- Enter your local prices, delivery costs, and supplier minimums to compare estimates.
Worked examples
Mulch for 300 square feet
At 3 inches deep, the base volume is 75 cubic feet. With a 10% allowance, plan for 82.5 cubic feet, about 3.06 cubic yards, or 42 two-cubic-foot bags.
Soil for a 4 by 8 raised bed
At 11 inches deep, the bed holds about 29.3 cubic feet before an allowance. Add 10% and plan for about 32.3 cubic feet, or 22 bags at 1.5 cubic feet each.
Clear, traceable estimates
Each calculator shows the units and assumptions behind the result. Prices are either clearly labeled examples or entered by you; the site does not use live retail pricing. Estimates are for planning, not a substitute for supplier guidance or professional advice.
